Taiwan Visa Application Process & Requirements In Kenya

Planning a trip to Taiwan from Kenya? Whether you are travelling for tourism, business meetings, conferences, exhibitions, or visiting family and friends, Kenyan passport holders are required to obtain a visa before travelling to Taiwan.

Unlike many countries, Taiwan does not have an Embassy or Representative Office in Kenya. This means applicants must submit their visa applications through a Taiwan Representative Office in another country. This guide explains the application process, required documents, visa fees, processing times, and everything you need to know before applying.

Do Kenyan Citizens Need a Visa for Taiwan?

Yes. Kenyan citizens must obtain a visa before travelling to Taiwan for tourism, business, or other short-term visits.

The type of visa required depends on the purpose of your visit.

Where Do Kenyans Apply for a Taiwan Visa?

Since Taiwan does not have an Embassy or Representative Office in Kenya, Kenyan applicants must submit their visa applications through a Taiwan Representative Office in another country. The two most commonly used offices are:

  • Taiwan Representative Office in Hargeisa, Somaliland – This is the preferred option for many applicants in Kenya due to its proximity and established application process.
  • Taipei Liaison Office in the Republic of South Africa (Pretoria) – Kenyan applicants may also apply through the Taiwan Representative Office in South Africa, subject to the office’s jurisdiction and current submission requirements.
