Finland Schengen Visa Application Process And Requirements In Kenya

1. Schengen visa application form: Applicants MUST submit a fully completed and signed Schengen visa application.

2. Valid passport: Applicants MUST present a passport issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen area, and containing a minimum of 2 blank visa pages.

3. Passport photographs: Applicants MUST provide one recent passport-size photograph taken within the last 6 months and meeting official Schengen visa photo requirements.

4. Financial evidence: Applicants MUST provide proof of sufficient funds to cover accommodation, daily expenses, and return travel costs during their stay in Finland and the Schengen area.

5. Flight itinerary: Applicants MUST submit a provisional flight booking or travel itinerary. Fully paid flight tickets are NOT required at the time of application.

6. Proof of accommodation: Applicants MUST provide proof of accommodation for the entire duration of stay, such as confirmed hotel reservations or an official invitation letter from a host in Finland.

7. Employment letter (employed applicants): Applicants MUST submit a signed letter from their employer confirming job title, salary, employment duration, approved leave dates, and employer contact details.

8. Business documents (self-employed applicants): Applicants MUST submit a Kenya PIN certificate and certified business or personal bank statements covering the last three months.

9. Proof of income (retired applicants): Applicants MUST submit documents confirming pension payments or other regular sources of income.

10. Proof of ties to Kenya: Applicants MUST provide evidence of strong social, economic, or family ties to Kenya, such as marriage certificates, lease agreements, title deeds, or family commitments.

11. Travel medical insurance: Applicants MUST provide Schengen travel medical insurance valid across all Schengen states with minimum coverage of €30,000, including emergency treatment, hospitalization, and repatriation.

12. Proof of legal residence (non-Kenyan nationals): Applicants residing in Kenya MUST provide a valid residence permit covering at least three months beyond the intended Schengen stay.

13. Requirements for minors (under 18 years): Applicants under 18 MUST provide birth certificates, parental consent letters, copies of both parents’ passports or IDs, and any additional supporting documents as required.

14. Business or conference invitation letter: Applicants MUST provide an official invitation letter from a Finnish-based company, conference organizer, or host organization stating the purpose of travel, dates, venue, and full contact details.

15. Proof of business relationship or conference registration: Applicants MUST submit supporting documents such as conference registration confirmation, event tickets, correspondence with the host company, or proof of an existing business relationship.

16. Employer support letter (business travelers): Applicants MUST provide a letter from their employer confirming the business purpose of travel, duration of stay, and confirmation of return to Kenya after the visit.

17. Company profile (Self employed): Applicants MAY be required to submit a brief profile of their Kenyan company, including business registration documents and proof of ongoing operations.

18. Invitation letter: if visiting friends or family, provide an invitation letter signed by inviter. The letter must not be older than 6 months.
