France Visa Requirements For Kenyan Citizens
Planning to travel to France? Below is a clear guide to the supporting documents required when applying for a French Schengen visa in Kenya.

TOURIST & VISITING FRIENDS/FAMILY
A valid passport or travel document issued within the last 10 years is required, containing at least two blank pages and valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area. Scans of the identity page and all pages with visas, entry/exit stamps, or other inscriptions should be submitted.
A recent ID photograph should be included with the application.
If you are not a national of your country of residence, proof of legal residence, such as a residence permit, must be provided.
Holders of official travel documents need to submit a note verbale.
Confirmation of an organised trip or documentation outlining the planned travel programme should be supplied.
A reservation for a return ticket or a detailed travel itinerary is required.
Proof of socio-professional status should be submitted, such as an employment contract, certificate of employment, extract from the trade and companies’ register, school attendance certificate, or proof of pension. Documents showing personal ties to your country of residence, like a marriage certificate or family record book, are also necessary.
Evidence of sufficient funds, including recent bank statements, pay slips, or pension statements, should accompany the application.
Accommodation arrangements must be demonstrated through a hotel reservation, tenancy agreement, certificate of property ownership, or a completed Cerfa form if staying with a private individual. Sufficient resources to cover hotel expenses of up to KES 18,400 per day should be shown.
Travel health insurance covering the full duration of your stay is required.
The visa fee of €90 (approximately 13,500 Kenyan Shillings) must be paid in the currency specified by the Consulate/Embassy. Fees may vary for individual cases and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations. TLScontact service fee of KES 4,472 is also applicable.
BUSINESS VISIT
12. Invitation from a company or an authority to participate in conferences or events of a commercial, industrial or professional nature. The letter should include:
Full name of the applicant (exactly as in the passport)
Passport number or date of birth
Purpose of visit (conference, meeting, trade fair, seminar, etc.)
Event name and a brief description of its professional nature
Exact event dates and duration of stay
Event location (full address in France)
Inviting company/organisation’s full details (name, address, contact person, phone, email)
Confirmation of participation (attendee, speaker, exhibitor, delegate, etc.)
Details of cost coverage (who pays for travel, accommodation, or other expenses)
Signature and stamp of the authorised representative
Official company letterhead on which the letter is issued
