Kenya Investor's Permit (Class G permit)
KENYA CLASS G INVESTOR PERMIT - APPLICATION PROCESS & ELIGIBILITY
The Class G Investment Permit, also known as the Investor’s Permit, is designed for foreign nationals who wish to establish and actively manage a business in Kenya. This permit allows investors to legally live and operate their businesses while contributing to Kenya’s economy.
It is initially issued for 1 to 2 years and is renewable. Investors who maintain continuous business operations for at least 7 years may become eligible to apply for permanent residency. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum investment of USD 100,000 (or equivalent) in their business.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the Class G Investor’s Permit, applicants must:
Register a business in Kenya through the Business Registration Service.
Provide proof of a capital investment of at least USD 100,000.
Comply with Kenyan immigration and tax regulations.
Open a company bank account in Kenya and deposit the investment capital.
DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS
For New Applications & Renewals
Completed and signed Form 25 (eFNS portal)
Cover letter addressed to the Director of Immigration Services
Copy of valid passport (bio-data page) and recent passport-size photograph
Proof of current immigration status (if already in Kenya)
Evidence of investment capital (minimum USD 100,000)
Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum & Articles of Association
CR12 Shareholding Certificate
Company KRA PIN certificate
For renewals: audited financial statements, list of employees, clearance letters from regulatory authorities
Bank Statement Verification Form (for new applicants)
Proof of offshore capital transfer
Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
Completed official Class G Permit Checklist (eFNS portal)
For Dependants [Spouse & Children]
Completed and signed Form 28 (eFNS portal)
Cover letter from the main applicant requesting dependant residency
Passport and recent photograph of the dependant
Proof of relationship: marriage certificate (spouse) or birth certificate (children)
Bank statements demonstrating financial support
Additional documents if necessary (medical reports, disability documentation, proof of age)

COMPLETE APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1: Confirm Eligibility
Register a business and obtain a KRA PIN
Ensure access to the required capital
Gather all required documents
Deposit capital in the company bank account
Step 2: Document Preparation & Upload
Create an account on the eFNS portal
Complete required forms and upload all supporting documents
Step 3: Submit Application
Submit all documents electronically via eFNS
Changes after submission are only allowed if requested by Immigration
Step 4: Processing
Standard processing time is 1–3 months, depending on document completeness and clearances
Step 5: Post-Approval Steps
Pay the government permit fee via eFNS
Obtain a security bond from licensed providers
Submit all hard copies to the Immigration office at Nyayo House, Nairobi
Permit is typically issued within 5–10 working days
Step 6: Permit Endorsement
Print the e-permit and visit Nyayo House for passport endorsement
Applicants outside Kenya may enter using an eTA
Step 7: Post-Endorsement Compliance
Register with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF)
Register with the Social Health Authority (SHA)
KENYA'S CLASS G PERMIT FEES & COST
Government Processing Fee: KES 20,050 (paid before submission)
Government Permit Fee: KES 250,050 per year (paid after approval)
Security Bond: KES 7,500 – 10,000 (covers 1–2 years)
Alien ID Fee: KES 10,050 (mandatory after permit endorsement)
All payments must be made through the eFNS portal, and proof of payment should be retained for submission.

Permit Approval: 1–3 months
Alien ID Issuance: 6–8 weeks after endorsement
