GENERAL SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS IN KENYA
1. Basic Documents:
Completed Application Form
A fully filled-out and signed Schengen visa application form.
Visa Fee:
The standard fee for an adult Schengen visa is 90 EUR.
Fee exemptions may apply for:
→ Children under 6
→ Students and academic researchers
→ Participants aged 25 or below in cultural, sports, or educational events
→ Representatives of non-profit organizations
→ Holders of diplomatic or service passports
→ Direct family members of EU citizens
Additional service or processing fees may apply depending on the application centre.
2. Passport Requirements:
Your passport must:
→ Contain your signature
→ Include at least two blank pages
→ Be issued within the last ten years
→ Remain valid for at least three months beyond your planned travel date
If relevant, include your previous passport.
3. Passport-Sized Photos:
Submit two recent photos that meet Schengen requirements:
→ Size: 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm
→ Taken within the last six months
→ Plain white background
→ Forward-facing view with clear facial features
→ Head coverings allowed for religious purposes
→ No sunglasses or items covering the face
→ Head must cover 70–80% of the photo
Attach with a paper clip only (no glue or staples).
4. Photocopies of Supporting Documents:

→ Valid residence permit (if applicable)
→ Previous Schengen visas (if applicable)
5. Travel Medical Insurance:
Your insurance must:
→ Provide at least 30,000 EUR coverage
→ Cover medical emergencies, hospitalization, and medical repatriation
→ Be valid for the entire travel duration
→ Cover all Schengen countries
→ Clearly state all terms and benefits
Insurance linked to credit cards is not accepted.
6. Travel Reservations:
Submit proof of travel arrangements, including:
→ Flight reservation or travel itinerary
→ Hotel booking with full address, contact number, and booking reference
7. Proof of Employment or Sponsorship:
Provide a letter from your employer or sponsor stating:
→ Company or sponsor’s name and contact information
→ Your job title and start date
→ Salary details
→ Approved leave dates and return-to-work date
→ Purpose of travel
For business owners or partners, include a copy of a valid trade license.
8. Proof of Financial Means:
Provide documents showing your financial stability, such as:
→ Bank statements for the past three months
→ Proof of assets or property
→ Any additional financial documents relevant to your situation
9. Requirements for Minors (Under 18):
Minors must submit:
→ Consent letter signed by both parents or legal guardian
→ Passport copies of both parents or legal guardian
→ Birth certificate
If applicable:
→ Adoption certificate
→ Divorce decree
→ Death certificate
