Apply For Kenya Digital Nomad Permit (Class N Permit)

This permit is designed for foreign nationals who wish to live in Kenya while working remotely for companies or clients based outside the country. It allows qualified individuals to legally reside in Kenya while continuing their professional activities abroad.

The permit may be issued for a period of one (1) or two (2) years and is renewable, provided the applicant remains compliant with immigration regulations and is not listed as a prohibited immigrant under Kenyan law.

Applicants may qualify if they meet any of the following conditions:

    1. Are employed by a company registered outside Kenya and work remotely under a valid employment contract.

    2. Are shareholders, directors, or representatives of a foreign-registered company conducting business activities remotely from Kenya.

    3. Are self-employed professionals or freelancers providing services to clients who are located outside Kenya.

This permit offers an excellent opportunity for professionals to enjoy living in Kenya while maintaining their international careers.

Requirements for a Kenyan Remote Work/Digital Nomad permit

  1. Applicants must submit the following documents when applying for a Remote Work Permit in Kenya:
  2. Duly completed and signed Form 25 submitted through the online immigration portal. The form must be printed after completing the application.
  3. Two (2) recent colored passport-size photographs (required for both new applications and renewals).
  4. Copy of a valid national passport (bio-data page).
  5. Proof of current immigration status if the applicant is already in Kenya.
  6. A detailed and signed cover letter from the applicant addressed to the Director General of Immigration Services, explaining the nature of employment or business, the location of the employer/company, and the intended duration of stay in Kenya.
  7. A signed cover letter from the employer, company, or organization addressed to the Director General of Immigration Services confirming employment or business relationship.
  8. Bank statements or payslips for the last three (3) months showing proof of regular monthly income.
  9. Proof of accommodation in Kenya, such as: Hotel reservation, or Lease or rental agreement.
  10. Letter of No Objection from the applicant’s home country embassy in Kenya.
  11. Company details of the foreign employer or business, including: Physical address, Telephone number, Email address, Contact person (name, job title, phone number, and email).
  12. Applicants must also include a completed application checklist with their submission.

Fees:

Processing Fee: USD 200 

Permit Issuance Fee: USD 1,000 per year
