SPAIN VISA REQUIRMENTS -KENYA
Visa Application Form. Provide a fully completed and signed visa application form.
Passport. Provide an original passport valid for at least three months after return, issued within the last ten years, and containing at least two blank pages.
Previous Passport. Provide your previous passport if your current passport was issued within the last three years.
National ID. Provide a clear photocopy of your Kenyan national ID card (front and back).
Passport Photo. Provide one recent color photo (45mm × 35mm) taken on a white background.
Previous Visas. Provide clear copies of all previous UK, US, Canada, Australia, and Schengen visas from the last three years.
Visa Fee Payment. Provide proof of payment of the visa fee.
Residence Permit (Non-Kenyans). Provide a copy of your valid Kenyan residence permit showing at least three months’ validity beyond your travel dates.
Justification for Applying in Kenya (Non-Kenyans). Provide a written explanation of why you are applying for a Spain visa in Kenya if you are not a Kenyan resident.
Flight Itinerary. Provide a preliminary flight reservation showing your intended travel dates.
Travel Plan. Provide a detailed travel itinerary if visiting more than one Schengen country.
Accommodation Proof. Provide confirmed hotel or apartment reservations covering your entire stay.
Invitation Letter (Family/Friends). Provide a certified invitation letter issued by the Police in Spain if visiting relatives or friends.
Travel Insurance. Provide travel medical insurance with minimum coverage of €30,000 covering medical emergencies, hospitalization, and repatriation for the entire stay.
Bank Statements. Provide original personal bank statements for the last three months stamped by the bank.
Payslips. Provide payslips from the last three months.
Minimum Funds. Provide proof of at least €90 per day and a total minimum of €815 for the trip.
Employee Letter. Provide a signed employer letter stating your job position, salary, employment terms, leave approval, purpose of travel, and employer contact details.
Business Registration (Self-Employed). Provide your KRA PIN certificate and business registration documents.
Business Bank Statements. Provide business bank statements for the last three months if you are self-employed.
Pension Proof (Retirees). Provide proof of pension or other retirement income.
Proof of Ties to Kenya. Provide documents such as a marriage certificate, property title deed, or tenancy agreement.
Birth Certificate (Minors). Provide the original and a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
Parents’ IDs. Provide copies of both parents’ ID cards and passports.
Parental Consent. Provide a notarized consent letter from both parents (or from the non-travelling parent).
Legal Documents (Minors). Provide a custody order if the guardian is not a biological parent or if a parent is deceased.
School Letter. Provide a school letter showing the child’s details, holiday dates, parent names, and school contacts.
Group Travel List. Provide a full list of group members and the supervising adult if the minor is travelling in a group.
Invitation Letter (Minors Visiting Family/Friends). Provide a certified invitation letter if the minor is visiting relatives in Spain.
SPAIN VISA PROCESSING TIME IN KENYA & IMPORTANT NOTES
All submitted documents required for the visa application must be provided either in English or in Spanish.
The consular authorities retain the right to request an interview at the Embassy, which the applicant must attend if required.
The standard legal processing time for a decision on the application is 15 calendar days, although this period can be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days in certain individual cases.
If an applicant chooses to collect their passport before the final decision is officially rendered, the visa application will be automatically considered withdrawn.
Applicants must be aware that all application fees paid are non-refundable, and the Embassy will not respond to any status requests before the official processing deadlines have expired.
